John
received his degree in Geological Engineering from LTI
and his corporate and entrepreneurial career in the energy industry spans 40+ years.
He was the founder and President of
Direct Energy Marketing Limited, Canada's largest independent natural gas
marketing company, and the founder of the $5.5 billion Alliance Pipe Line
project, Canada's largest industrial project. John is a board member of several
public and private corporations and in recognition of John's
accomplishments, APPEGA recently bestowed to him the Centennial Leadership
Award, its highest accolade.

John
is a Partner with Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP and is a board member of several public
and private corporations. He is a sitting member of the NASDAQ Listing
Qualifications Panel and has been a Public Governor of The Alberta Stock Exchange.
John has also been a member of the Board of Governors of Ridley College, the Olympic Trust of Canada and
Strathcona-Tweedsmuir School. John has also been a member of the Advisory Council of
the Calgary Economic Development Authority, the Calgary
Transportation Authority, the Corporate Relations Committee of the Calgary
Exhibition and Stampede and is also a Province of Alberta Appointee to the
Dispute Resolution Panel for the Agreement on International Trade.
