 |  On March 31,
2007 all UPSI assembly technicians attended and successfully
completed the IPC Soldering Certification program, administered by
instructors from the Alberta Technical Training Institute (ATTI). This
is a part of UPSI's ongoing training program, which is a key measure of the
quality standard that UPSI endeavors to pursue for our valued clients. |

Certification
As of December 4, 2006, UPSI is officially ISO 9001-2000 certified. The
certification involved 15 months of team effort to standardize the processes
related to all areas of the company’s business. UPSI is committed to
providing quality products and services to its customers, striving to
implement continual improvement into its processes, and involving every
employee within the company to meet these goals. UPSI Management
believes that implementing the ISO standard into its business has made it a
more efficient and consistent provider of quality products and services. |

| Depassivation Module in Field Reader -
allows SMART-1™
equipped batteries to be tested under loaded current conditions prior to
being sent downhole. Adjustable current settings from 100 to 400 mA with
real-time loaded and open circuit voltage being displayed ensures the
battery is in optimal condition prior to use. Auto shut-off feature prevents
over depletion and conserves battery life. |
| "SMART-1™ proven to pay dividends" - after an
extensive analysis of year to year battery consumption by a major
directional drilling operator using UPSI SMART-1™ batteries, substantial
cost reductions where clearly achieved. Utilizing UPSI SMART-1™
batteries, this company has been able to fully utilize each battery and
materially improve its cost of operations. Also identified, was the value of
having battery current consumption and operating temperature included in the
data collected from each drilling run. |
